Jeff Serdy was elected mayor of Apache Junction in August and will take office in January 2017. As an entrepreneur and avid outdoor enthusiast, Serdy is the founder and owner of AJI Sporting Goods, the largest privately owned outdoor sporting goods store in the East Valley.
Serdy was elected to three terms as a councilmember, beginning in June 2007 and has been a champion of tourism-related concerns in the East Valley. Serdy was instrumental in formation of the Apache Junction Focal Point and Community Tourism Committee. Serdy currently sits on that committee, as well as on the Governor’s Tourism Advisory Council and the Superstition Business Owner’s Group.
Serdy’s other professional affiliations include being a member of the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businessmen and various other advocacy organizations. He has also served as an Apache Junction Little League coach, volunteer and manager.
Now serving as Apache Junction’s representative to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Board of Directors, Serdy is committed to further economic diversification of our region’s economy.
